    Rachel Morris playing cello

    Hi, I'm Rachel.

Rachel Morris is a Washington-based cellist, educator, and ensemble coach known for her engaging, student-centered approach to teaching, and her ability to connect meaningfully with young musicians. She works with students throughout the Northshore and neighboring school districts, coaches ensembles and sectionals, and regularly adjudicates Solo & Ensemble festivals.

Through her private studio and work within the Northshore and neighboring school districts, she has built a reputation for helping students grow into confident, expressive, and technically polished performers.

In addition to maintaining an active private studio, Rachel regularly coaches school ensembles and sectionals, adjudicates Solo & Ensemble festivals, and develops chamber music workshops that strengthen both musicianship, confidence, and collaboration. Her students are encouraged to think beyond notes and rhythms—to refine their technique and become expressive, thoughtful performers.

Rachel maintains an active performing career as both a soloist and orchestral musician throughout the Pacific Northwest. Prior to relocating to Washington, she led a highly sought-after private studio in the Kansas City area, served as Vice President of the Kansas City Cello Society, and regularly worked with the Harmony Project to help expand access to music education for underserved youth.

She studied cello performance at Brigham Young University and has trained with Trilla Ray-Carter, Stephen Elisha, and Andreas Pokorny, the former principal cellist of the Vienna Symphony.

At the core of Rachel’s teaching philosophy is the belief that music education should inspire confidence, curiosity, discipline, and self-expression—empowering students not only as musicians, but as individuals.

Rachel’s studio is located in Redmond, WA.

I would love to meet and work with you. Feel free to send me a message.
